NBTA LGBTQ+ Support:

As New Brunswick teachers, we are members of the
New Brunswick Teachers' Association (
NBTA). Our professional organization adopted an Anti-homophobia, Anti-Transphobia and Anti-heterosexism Policy 598
 in April 2007 (reaffirmed 2014).

This policy highlights our legal responsibility as educators to:

1. a) Promote equity and inclusiveness for all individuals in the workplace;

b) Recognize student and teacher diversity and the goals of anti-homophobia, anti-transphobia and anti-heterosexism in the selection of its priorities and programs; and

c) Promote anti-homophobia, anti-transphobia and anti-heterosexism education

2. NBTA advocates for educational systems that are safe, welcoming, inclusive, and affirming for all sexual orientations and gender identities/expressions.
